ABOUT NOVOCAP
Novocap is an Argentine pharmaceutical laboratory with more than 60 years of experience in the research, development, and manufacturing of value-added pharmaceutical products. It operates an industrial plant in Avellaneda and an industrial park in Ezeiza.
THE CHALLENGE
A custom system that couldn’t keep up with quality needs
Before LOYAL, Novocap relied on a custom-built application developed by outside providers. Building the functionality the Quality team needed took too long, and the laboratory also needed to digitize a large volume of paper documentation.
THE PROJECT
Starting with documents
Novocap bought LOYAL in May 2020 and installed LOYAL 5, adding document import to get its digitization under way. LOYAL also adapted the system to the laboratory’s procedures, extending backup retention from the default eight days to 30.
THE SOLUTION
From document management to quality management
Between 2021 and 2022, Novocap added quality tools through the QMS module. In October 2021 it doubled its licenses from 25 to 50, and document activity rose sharply: 515 documents were uploaded in 2020, 6,366 in 2021, and 6,228 were created in 2022.
Expanding to Ezeiza
In early 2023, LOYAL expanded to the Ezeiza plant, where Novocap added the CMP compliance management module with customized forms. As of that point, the laboratory ran two LOYAL 5 environments (Production and Test) and a LOYAL 6 environment dedicated to CMP and its custom features.
KEY RESULTS

- Use expanded from document management into QMS and, at the Ezeiza plant, CMP compliance management

WHAT’S NEXT
As of 2023, Novocap and LOYAL were planning the migration from LOYAL 5 to LOYAL 6, building on the system’s growing role in the laboratory’s document, quality, and compliance management.
