Ledevit is an Argentine company dedicated to the development and marketing of confectionery and bakery products. With more than 140 employees and over 50 years of experience, the company focuses on food safety, continuous improvement, and sustainable growth.

THE CHALLENGE

A last-minute decision, ahead of certification

At the beginning of 2018, Ledevit had no formal management system, and documentation was handled the traditional way. That changed after an internal audit, when one of the company’s major clients required compliance with the FSSC 22000 food safety standard. “We had the idea of getting certified by the end of the year,” Andrea and Sofía recall. “It was a last-minute decision to contract a system, because we considered it would speed up the process a lot.”

Implementing LOYAL before certification

Ledevit evaluated several document and quality-management solutions, looking for something simple, intuitive, and usable at every level of the organization. LOYAL was selected as the right fit, with implementation beginning in January 2018, shortly before the two-stage FSSC 22000 certification audit that same year.

THE SOLUTION

One system, each department managing its own

Ledevit uses LOYAL to manage documentation and quality processes across General Management, Human Resources, Production, Sales & Commercial, Quality, and Purchasing, with more than 300 documents created in total. “As an SME, our idea has always been that each sector manages its own documentation,” Andrea and Sofía explain. Management publishes monthly reports on each area’s documentation status, then builds indicators for closer monitoring.

Certified, and validated by the auditor

Ledevit completed both stages of its FSSC 22000 certification audit in 2018, with the auditor specifically highlighting the improvement the new system made possible.

Access from anywhere

LOYAL’s cloud-based access proved especially valuable during the COVID-19 pandemic, letting employees working remotely continue their activities without interruption. “It would not have been possible otherwise,” Andrea and Sofía note.
