“With LOYAL, it is easy to organise information, whatever the standard.”
Analía Quiroga, Head of Quality Assurance, Alican

Case Study
ABOUT
Alican produces and markets balanced food for dogs and cats, with more than ten years of experience developing formulas focused on nutritional quality, food safety, and consistent production standards to support pets’ health.
THE CHALLENGE
Moving off paper, mid-transition between standards
Alican wanted to move away from paper-based documentation and implement a management system that could adapt to its quality processes. At the same time, the company was transitioning from ISO 9001:2008 to ISO 9001:2015 and needed to manage requirements from different standards within the same system.
THE PROJECT
A recommendation, and a fast response
Alican compared several solutions before choosing LOYAL, drawn to its high level of parameterization. A recommendation from the quality team at a Córdoba refinery, an existing LOYAL client, helped confirm the decision, along with how quickly the LOYAL team responded. During the ISO 9001:2015 transition, the team worked with a consultant to parameterize the standard’s requirements. “The process was very quick and agile,” Analía notes. “We had no problems loading all this information into LOYAL.”
THE SOLUTION
Built around Alican’s processes
LOYAL’s high level of parameterization let Alican adapt the platform to its specific document and quality-management workflows, organizing documentation for ISO 9001:2015 and for IRAM 14108 Good Manufacturing Practices within the same system.
From manual complaints to structured workflows
“The QMS module really speeds up our work and helps us a lot with non-conformities and customer complaints, which we used to handle manually,” Analía explains. “For complaint management, we parameterised everything with the consultant according to our flowchart and who should be involved at each stage.”
Remote access, without disruption
The implementation took place during the pandemic. “We were always able to access the system and had no problems in terms of connectivity,” Analía recalls.
KEY RESULTS
- Paper-based documentation was replaced with a centralized system, chosen on a fast response and a trusted client referral
- ISO 9001:2015 and IRAM 14108 requirements are managed within one platform
- Non-conformities and customer complaints moved from manual handling into structured, flowchart-based workflows
- Training and quality-management activities continued without disruption through remote work
WHAT’S NEXT
“We would like to become ISO 22000 certified to reinforce food safety,” Analía says. “We are going through a very dynamic process of innovation and development. The idea is to keep adding information to LOYAL and use all the functionalities.”
